Join artist Robert Mahar in exploring all of the ways you can embroider your area adventures as we embellish a beautiful vintage map of Sonoma County custom printed on a panel of cotton linen canvas. Perfectly suited for beginners, instruction will cover core embroidery basics and essential stitches. However, students with more embroidery experience are encouraged to join for a fun refresher course and the opportunity to apply their skills to a large-format fabric map.
Please note: given the age of this map, some cartographic changes have taken place in the intervening years – however, the county borders and city names remain largely accurate. Cleverly designed with guides, you’ll find it easy to sew finished edges at home or wrap your map around a cork board to pin photos of your friends, family and travels.
